Reduce
Your Cost of Commuting |
|
 |
|
|
|
|
|
With rising gasoline prices, more commuters are looking for help
forming a carpool, starting a vanpool, riding transit, bicycling
to work, or teleworking. With funding from the Florida
Department of Transportation, Florida residents have access to
many commuter assistance programs and transit agencies who are
willing to provide free assistance in helping commuters find the
best travel option to meet your needs. Worried about being
stranded if your carpool partner needs to leave work early
unexpectedly?
Most of the agencies have an Emergency Ride Home program
that covers most of the cost of a taxi ride home (under
certain conditions). Check with the commuter services
program in your community.
State employees in the Tallahassee area who were referred by
DMS to visit this site (www.commuterservices.com)
to find carpool information actually should go to
www.commuterservices.org (Commuter Services of North
Florida) for assistance.
